In the last weeks it became clear that Apple’s WebKit, its Safari development platform, will contain Service Workers as part of the near future implementation (take a look at their WebKit Feature Status Dashboard). Also The Register featured a nice blog post about it.
Also Microsoft wants to implement Service Workers in its Edge browser, as can be seen on their roadmap overview.
This is great news to push the Progressive Web App standard, that was proposed by Google quite some time ago (2015) to all major platforms.
